Cursed Sapling

A tree, cursed to burn for eternity.


I imagine a tree's greatest fear is fire. 

I wanted to draw a little concept piece for a creature one would maybe find in a haunted/cursed wood - for my ARPG.

This poor monster cannot move from its location, for it is rooted to the ground, but that doesn't stop it from launching fireballs at passing travelers from afar. These creatures are the result of forest fires, and are said to be the manifestation of nature's wrath. They grow from the roots of the trees that were burned to death.

Despite their fearsome appearance, these creatures are only 2 feet tall, but don't take them lightly. In rare instances, one may grow up to 3x the average size. At that point, they are called Crone Children.
